My husband has his fatherline stopped in Övertorneå, but which one, I don't know. Michel Margaretasson Siiri
His mother was a Lapp, father unknown, but I am searching...
I am trying to locate the birth records for a Salomon Hermo born 1837 in Overtornea or Tornea and his wife Johanne Isaksdatter born in 1847 in Overtornea or Matarengi (same place I think). Salomon is the son of Isak Hermo because in some places he called himself Salomon Isaksen or Salomon Isaksen Hermo or Salomon Hermo Isaksen. Their marriage record says he is the son of Isak Hermo and she is the daughter of Isak Hanno or Hanmo. In their marriage record she called herself Johanne Isaksdatter Mettavainio but in other places she just calls herself Johanne Isaksdatter. (Maybe she was married before to someone called Mettavainio). They emigrated to Hammerfest Norway. Salomon emigrated in 1866. Johanne emigrated in 1872. They were marred in 1872.
These are some of the records for them.

Johanna Evasdotter Mättävainio born 1847…with her mother and children…moved to Norway 1872 https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0035206_00139
Thank you very much for the suggestions. I will review them shortly.
I posted a similar question around 20 years ago and got a lot of replies. See here: https://forum.rotter.se/index.php?PHPSESSID=473u67t9nm7a624h3fbmqn5...
The first 2007 reply suggested this: Salomon Isaksson Härmä født 19.2.1837 i Kuivakangas, Övertorneå. Gift 7.11.1864 med Eva Johanna Eriksdotter Grym født 27.1.1842.
The problem is it did not match What I know. I know for example that Salomon's father's name was Isak. I think that Johanne's father's name was also Isak based on the 1872 marriage record. The above suggested that her father's name was Erik.
The 1885 census says Salomon emigrated in 1866 and Johanne emigrated in 1872. There would have been no reason for them to have lied about that. I also have a Hammerfest marriage record for a couple that looks like them from 1872. If they were married in Sweden or Finland they would surely have emigrated at the same time.
According to Salomon's death record he was born on 19 Oct 1837. See https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/114/190 (line 11.) That would rule out the birth record above located by Sauli which was in February.
This Geni tree by a direct descendant Staal Anton Hermo Salomon Isaksson Hermo Härmä suggests similar to some of the above suggestions. It has the Feb birth date, but I have doubts about both Salomon's details and also Johanne's details.
Ok I have confirmed that Salomon was born on 19 Feb 1837 based on the 1910 census: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01036971001732
The 1885 census is wrong. It says he was born in 1857: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01053307001520
So Sauli you were correct. Thank you for that. That means that the death record is wrong. Whoever supplied the information must have said Oct instead of Feb. Staal's family tree is also correct for Salomon. So that leaves Joanne to be verified.
Johanne was born 23 June 1847 according to the emigration record referred to above. https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0035206_00139
Johanna's mother's name was Eva Isaksdotter Mettavaimio (as per emigration record above)
Johanna's father's name was Isak Hanmo or Isak Hanno as per marriage record referred to above https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/327/pv00000007005871 That transcription names the father Hanmo but the original image is on Ancestry which I accessed via a library appears to name him Isak Hanno - https://www.ancestrylibrary.com.au/imageviewer/collections/60606/im...
Johanna's parents must have been divorced or separated or he had died since the emigration index referred to above shows the mother and children moving but no father. It also names her Johanna Evasdotter Mettavainio https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/A0013560_00175 Maybe Mettavainio was the name of Eva's second husband???
So the claim above from 2007: Salomon Isaksson Härmä født 19.2.1837 i Kuivakangas, Övertorneå. Gift 7.11.1864 med Eva Johanna Eriksdotter Grym født 27.1.1842 is not the same Johanna. But could it be an earlier marriage for Salomon? Can anyone find that marriage please? The link given in 2007 was http://alfhansen.se/se/0001/740.htm which no longer exists.
That is the Johanne that Staal proposes on his Geni tree as the mother of Anton Hermo (my grandfather) but it cannot be correct.
Here you can see first marriage 1864, it is written there

There is something strange with the birth of Hilda https://www.digitalarkivet.no/view/255/pd00000004161591 It is in 1866 but her mother Johanna did not emigrate from Sweden until 1872. I doubt there would have been two married couples called Salomon Hermo and Johanna Isaksdatter in Hammerfest around that time.
This is her marriage record from 14-7-1872 to Karl Brevik: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/327/pv00000007330831 which also shows her father as Salomon Hermo.
I found the birth of her child https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/255/pd00000030550041 but could not find a death record for a Hilda Brevik, which might have had her date of birth, which was missing from her baptism record.
This show that Johanna is oäkta barn. And she had children Selma oäkta in Sweden,,,.,,.
https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0035206_00139#?c=&m=&am...
Thanks for that Sauli. It does not look like Eriksdotter in her name. It looks like Ersdotter. Is that an abbreviation?
Are there also divorce records available (or did they not get divorced back then?) Or maybe a death record for her? Or an emigration record?
Are there any children birth records for her in that parish please? Maybe it was a different Salomon Hermo.
In this movingrecord there is Johanna Evasdotter Mettävainio, so she was oäkta
https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/A0013560_00175#?c=&m=&am...
Ok so it looks like the father was Erik but they were not married.
Eva had a second child Henrik. I presume the Dito means he was also born oäkta.
What is the third line please? I cannot read it all.Johannes ??? Selma. Or is that someone else unrelated who emigrated?
AlLso what is all the information to the right please?
I went to https://sok.riksarkivet.se/?postid=ArkisRef%20SE/HLA/1010252 and tried to do some searches but I cannot work out what to select and how to search.
Are the birth records for 1822 available please to try to find the birth record for Eva on 5 March 1822. Also any record of the father Erik Hanno or Hanmo, maybe in a census or birth record.
I would also love to find the church birth and marriage records for the ancestors of Salomon but once again I cannot work out how to search. When I do a general search at the start for Salomon harma it finds nothing.

In riksarkivet you must first go to Övertorneå. Then chooce birthrecord. Then just go to year 1822
