Okay great. I need to do this carefully because I don't want to merge with the fake user ALSG's profile as it will put him(her?) in charge of all your work... Give me a bit to figure it out. I'd hoped to hear back from Geni about him first.

Sharon-Ann Sheina de Wet Herr , it was not uncommon at the time for forenames to be switched around between records. This mostly occurred when a person's nickname was not the first forename.

Amanda (Customer Service) wrote to me last night that she and Mike Stangel are now on top of ALS Gildenhuys's bogus profile and the GEDCOM mess. It appears as if their delay in getting back to us on our complaints was due to algorithm bugs that haunted safeguards on GEDCOMs. I suggest we stop wasting time on the mess and allow Mike to roll back the imports.

For all of you who might not know yet, Amanda (CS) messaged me that the GEDCOM by ALS Gildenhuys has been deleted and that his editing rights remain restricted. It's still a mystery to me why they keep his account open, as the profile is most certainly a historical, deceased one. But, at least, the GEDCOM mess is sorted.
