About the Knight surname

One group of Knights came from England to Pennsylvania and before or during the Revolutionary War, they left and went to Canada. At least 2 families returned to the states in the 40's- 50's. One to New York State and one to California. Quite a few remain in Canada. Another group came from England and went to South Carolina I was told.

My Knight ancestors migrated from Surrey England to Virginia in the 1650’s. From there, they moved to North Carolina before eventually settling in middle Tennessee in the 1830’s.
Jerry Knight, Kingston Springs TN.
