James Davis, son of Barnabas Davis and Patience James Davis was baptized at Tetbury, Gloucester, England on October 17, 1633. His father came to New England on the Blessing in 1635, but made return trips to England on business before settling at Charlestown, Massachusetts in 1639. [1]
He married by about 1671, Elizabeth Randall. [1] Elizabeth was born at Scituate, Massachusetts in October, 1652, daughter of William Randall and Elizabeth Carver. [2] [3] After their marriage they removed to Boston. [4]
1684: April 1: James Davis deposed he was aged about 49. [1]
1685: November 4: His father Barnabas sold 5 acres of upland at Charlestown; signing the document were Patience Davis, and sons Samuel, John, James, Nathaniel and Hopestill Davis, and daughter Patience Redland and her husband. [1]
In Elizabeth's father William Randall's will, dated October 13, 1692, he left a bequest to his daughter Elizabeth Davis. [1]
