About Elizabeth Bird
Not the same as Elizabeth Cockey (although it’s speculated)
Elizabeth Slade was under age when her father died in 1675, so could not have been married to Dr. Henry Lewis at that time. Perhaps an older sister was, who died before 1675, and whose Lewis children were also mentioned in the 1702 will of William Hopkins.
We know that Henry Lewis’ widow was called Elizabeth; that she was probably not the mother of his sons Henry and William; that those Lewis children were named in William Slade’s will; and that Elizabeth, Henry Lewis’ widow, married John Bird of Baltimore County after his death.
Can we say that this Elizabeth was also the daughter of William Slade?
Elizabeth Slade was born circa 1664 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.1 She was the daughter of William Slade, named in his 1675 Will. Elizabeth died circa 1707 in Maryland.1 (Uncertain)
Elizabeth married Richard Moss, II [disputed] circa 1681 in Maryland.1
Elizabeth Slade was the wife of 1) Henry Lewis [disputed] 2) John Bird [disputed]

Elizabeth Slade, daughter of William Slade, was a minor when her father died in 1675. From her father she was devised a parcel of land called "The Square" lying between Richard Moss' & Thomas Turner's lands. William's will also directed that Elizabeth be brought up by John Homewood. [MSA Wills Liber 5 Folio 45]
There is no land patent in Anne Arundel county for "The Square" so this was the name familiarly used and not the patented name of the tract.
From a deed dated March 12, 1705, the picture becomes clear when Edward Peake mortgaged a tract of land called "Slade's Hope" to Amos Garrett. In the deed the descension of the land is explained: "Whereas by patent dated 5 Aug 1664 William Slade patented a parcel of land called "Slades Hope" on the north side of the Severn River containing 50 acres and Whereas the said William Slade by his Last Will & Testament did bequeath to his daughter Elizabeth (afterwards wife to Richard Moss) the aforesaid parcel of land And the said Richard Moss and Elizabeth his wife for the sum of 4250 pounds of tobacco paid to him by Richard Bayly of this county did alien the said tract of land to him conveyance dated February 7 1684 ... " [MSA Land Records, AA Co, Liber WT 2 Folio 335].
The deed above establishes that:
(1) "The Square" is the same tract known by patent as "Slade's Hope"
(2) Elizabeth Slade married Richard Moss NOT Elizabeth Hammond.
After the death of her husband Richard Moss in 1700, Elizabeth married Thomas Cockey. [MSA Inv & Accts Liber 23 Folio 15]. Thomas purchased back "Slade's Hope" in 1709 [MSA Land Records, AA Co, Liber PK Folio 155].
Following Thomas Cockey's death in 1737, Elizabeth granted power of attorney to her son-in-law, Robert Boone, husband to her daughter Elizabeth [MSA Provincial Court Land Record, Vol 699 Page 24 (attached in Collaborate)] In the POA she provided directives for her estate and named her heirs. In addition to her daughter Elizabeth, she named sons James and Richard Moss, and her granddaughter Ann Hammond, daughter of her daughter Ann Cockey and Thomas John Hammond.

“I have three other sites that say that Elizabeth's parent's are John Hammond and Mary unknown. The Elizabeth Slade that supposedly married Moss and Cockney was in fact John and Mary's daughter. Wiki, Geni and Ancestry all point to John Hammond and Mary Unknown”
