About Dvr. Stuart McCorquindale
Stuart McCorquindale was born at Ōamaru in the Otago region of New Zealand's South Island on 11 June 1877. His parents were James McCorquindale and Mary McCorquindale (nee McLauchlan, later Moore) who had married at Kilmarnoch in Ayrshire, Scotland, on 15 December 1873. During World War I Stuart enlisted to serve with the New Zealand Army Service Corps. His brother William was serving with the Australian Imperial Force, 16th Australian Infantry Battalion (Service No. WWI 77). William was killed in action in France on 31 August 1916. Stuart was killed in action in France on 25 August 1918. He was buried in the Achiet-le-Grand Communal Cemetery Extension [IV. V. 10]. Bio by Debbie McCauley (23 April 2025).
