Wealthy son refuses to pay express charges on his father's remains
Columbus, Indiana, July 17 - William Louden, reputed to be wealthy and until recently a member of the firm Brockman, Louden, and Tompkins, well-known contractors, refused to receive from American Express company the remains of his father, Albert Louden, who died in Paragould, Arkansas, July 13. Mr. Louden refusing to pay the express charges of $23. Albert Louden was a candidate for county treasurer on the Democratic ticket in 1878, but was defeated, and, broken up financially, he left the country and had not been heard of since. William Louden offered to bury his father if someone would pay the express charges.
