

Abiy Ahmed Ali (Ge'ez: ዐቢይ አህመድ አሊ, Oromo: Abiyyii Ahimad Alii, often shortened to Abiy Ahmed or just Abiy; born 15 August 1976) is an Ethiopian politician serving since 2 April 2018 as the fourth and current (Oct. 2019) prime minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize of 2019, "for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighbouring Eritrea."
