Looking at the tree. There are only three private but they died in the 1800.
There is a S. Ward(female) that has no public counter part.
The two males are A Brown and E Ward that may match up with
Enoch ward ..and either Aaron or alex Sawney/brown
Even if tose were merged, that would leave 26 kids.
My guess was that the husbands brought some into the marrage but nether
are showing another wife.
The find a grave memmorial shows 5 children with the burial sites listed.
Loooking at the memorial for Nathan Ward, Sr
he has 13 children listed Total 5 of them with
Sarah
OK, that means wee can acount for children
13 for him but Sarah only had 5 of them
-------------------------
_AHHH as he takes a breath_____
-------------
That still leaves 13 children unaccounted for
A guess would be that he was married before (That's what I get from his memorial). I need to resaerch him also.
The other 13 children could have been by a bad merge or something, Even with 2 wife 26 children are a bit.........much
I'm going to look at the dates first to see if maybe a couble of generations were mixed with alex I or with Jr.
Maybe out of the 26 children on has something that will point use in the right direction.

By the looks of names I would say that the family of
Unknown Profile
and
John Brown, Jr.
are mixed.
Tribal records only show one cheif John brown, John Brown, Jr.
amd once the other John brown became known as Cheif, it would have been easy to mix them.
Big question, is this just a mistake on Geni or is it in the "White " records like that?
Since the Wiki link is no longer valid (may not have been correct in the first place) I will see if I can confirm anything about him with the Cherokee websites (East, west and Keetoowah). This may not be as easy as it sounds.

I am hijacking Unknown Profile?through=6000000004086108190#/tab/overview
for now. I know that really breaks your heart.
Colonel Nathan Thomas Ward, I had 1 wife and 22 children
This is not geting me anywhere.
I'm going to sleep on it and try again in the marrow.
I may have to get out a pen and paper and do it the old way, Idon't want to disconnect someone until I know for sure what went wrong and hopeflly where they really belong.
You do realize I took a look at the "Chief John Brown's" and thought ... hey I'll work on the Ward family! :)
But I think you're correct and there's a geni generational mixup to fix there.
Then we can get back into the genealogical question of how Nakey / Sarah / Sallie managed to have so many children. I am thinking two different daughters of Dragging Canoe *and* some children of the husband's by different wives as well.
There are other Dragging Canoes also, so they could of been merged to to mix it up like this,. I need to figure out a good way to go about this, I'm afraid that we'll run out of sources before we run out of names.
As the Cruise Captain I am required to ask "where has the rum gone?" and in this case I could really use some. Who's at the Helm?
This may take a little bit but I have a plan
First the 5 children of Sara and Nathan will be marked ++NSC++
Then the others that are listed for Nathen only will be marked ++NW++
I will then create an unknown mother for them and move them there.
That will move the children to a place that we know by ref (I'll work on the rest of the children later)
