The deluge of copies of the Viking lines seems to have gone down to a trickle, and we're keeping up with the new proposed mergers rather easily.

Still a few thorny places in the trees, and quite a few data conflicts that need sorting (WITH a reference in hand, and WITH text entered into "About me" of what the reference is). But we're in much better shape than we were a few months ago!

Good work!

Good, but we have had a lot of vandalism with disconnections in the younger lines. Time to take some closer look on these lines...

This is very interesting. I've followed your link to the Scandinavian sagas and found a profile I manage. I've done the merge and vill look further:-)
My cousin do also have some profiles there. We're collaborators, so i'll look into those merges to.
I,ve found it very hard getting profiles merged. I think people don't understand how important it's only having one profile.
F.ex. I'm having great difficulties with Clement (Laugesen) Follerup alias Harra Clæmint(Klæmint). Last time i looked there were over 20 profiles:-(
I live in Faroe Islands and at the moment we're less than 50000 inhabitants so it chould be managebul, but I find it very hard to get reactions on my request on merging profiles.
Let me know if there is something I can check:-)
Best wisches:-)

Indeed, it is hard - especially with those people who visited Geni, uploaded a lot of profiles, and then went away....
If all else fails, and the profiles involved are all public or very old, call a curator (such as me)!

We tend to merge only what's obvious, so if there's someone whose name is written in multiple diverging ways, and you want them merged, do point at documentation. Erroneous merges are (still) very hard to undo!
