I have an Ann Hershberger, raised by an aunt Mrs. Craft in my family tree. She married Caspar Rodenhizer. The family story is her mother died young and she was raised by this aunt. She is known in all the family trees as Ann Hershberger Craft, with her mother's name being "Winter Oate."
In 1831, Rockbridge, VA, she married Caspar Rodenhizer.
Now, after all the years of research by many many other individuals, I have found this surname "Winterott" or various spellings. This would seem to be in agreement with the ancestry of the Rodenhizer family.
Has anyone ever heard of this Ann Hershberger Craft whose mother was "Winter Oat?"
