nope. Hence choosing to go with your NN. Was hoping Gerard Willem Charles Lemmens might provide the source he used. It would be good to have the person's name.
Dear Sharon and Neil,
I usually use www.geneat.com

Yes Sharon,
You might be impressed but I am not so impressed with you and your and your associates on your Macleod activity, as you seem to have cancelled a lot of my Macleod (my wife's ancestors) linage on which I have worked so hard for 40 years !
I think there should be a sort of etiquette about changing and removing previous information, I nearly resigned as a member of Geni when I noticed it !! I might still do !
What seem to have started as a search for the first name of a Campbel (also a line of my wife's ancestors) ended up in distroing the Macleod lineage.
Sorry to be so negative but it was a lot of efford to compile the Macleod lineage.
Kind regards,
Gerard Lemmens
Hi Gerard. I don't think you understand how Geni works. We are a ONE world tree, and everybody's family gets merged into a single tree. Your line here was simply merged into the main tree. By you, as it happens:
In the historical tree we don't merge in all the duplicate profiles - there is nobody to do that work or clean up the exponentially increasing conflits that this creates. Once you are merged into the one world tree, all the original profiles are part of your tree too. This is explained in the https://www.geni.com/projects/Historical-Tree-Clean-Up-Please-Park-Unsourced-DUPLICATES-in-the-Historical-Tree-Here%21/37332 project that I invited you to collaborate on.
Also in the historical tree, there is an expectation that your data has good sources to back it up. That is why we didn't choose the Catherine Campbell names when the merged data conflict showed. You had no sources for it. This discussion was to alert you that they are needed here.
Hope this helps.
In this case, Neil is using Primary Sources from the National Records of Scotland, together with The History of the MacLeods: pp. 288 for the family of VI Roderick MacLeod of Lewis to validate facts.
You seem now to have added this:
VI. Torquil MacLeod , was born ca. 1380 . Alexander, Lord of the Isles , granted him a charter for his lands in Lewis at Finlaggan in Islay on 7 jan. 1432/3. In a notarial document of 9 june 1456 he is called “Sir Torkell McLoyd of Leows” . He was married to Catherine Campbell and had issue:
1. Roderick MacLeod , VII th Chief of Lewis , from whom the Chiefs of Lewis descend
2. Norman MacLeod , who held lands in Hacklete , Earshader , Pabbay and Baille na Cille , follows as VII , I st of Pabbay and Uig .
3. Margaret Macleod, who married John Ross of Balnagown.
What we need to validate it is links to the particular Source from where you are gleaning this information.
I'm sure Neil would be as delighted as I to be able to validate a name for her.
Sharon,
Truth, I can not be bothered with you and Neil anymore as you both seem full of yourselves and think others are Stupid ! I have worked with prominant Scottish genealogist and even with the Lord Lyon King of Arms over 40 years.
I purchased many books on the Scottish MacLeods and Macleods (My in laws branch (of Pabbay and Uig spelling )
This is it !
