Peter Linders Dup of Peter Linders
Joanna Elisabetha Geelen Possible dup of Peter Henry Linders either way - mother was born before 1800, making her too old to have a child in 1876, so it does meet the cutoff.
Private User -- Baker and Linders are done. For Shattuck, I'm not sure he's connected to the right wife...? Different surname, let's figure it out.
Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 - Sorry, we will be stuck with that pending merge for quite a while. Birthdate is well after 1875.
Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 - I realize that she has been gone for 30 years.
But the limitations on curators for killing Zombies is 150 years from the birthdate.
Tamás Flinn Caldwell-Gilbert, Roy has found some Hungarian-American profiles seeking management...you might be a good fit?
I don't think that's going to resolve the issue of the private ones, though. But I did mark them as deceased.
Hi Ashley
The profiles I am seeking to merge them with are managed by Shaindy Orban
See
https://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000110674992061
He (or she) would also seem to be someone who shares an interes
I will try to supply some birth years for them and one of their fathers who is also shown as private even though he must have been born in the 1850s or even earlier.
Regards Roy
Barbara E Knauss her husband was born in 1804, so I would think she was born before 1876.
George Knauss - might be a dup of their sibling?
Private User -- Barbara is public now.
George Knauss is interesting...he and his full brother have a different surname than the other children. Might need to do some more research. If we can find Barbara's death date, it would be easy to flip them public. My GUESS is that the surnames are just an error, but we have to be certain.
Katalin Fried is the mother of one of the ones you linked to, is Public, and also has No Manager.
Possibly if you request to Manage her, you will be offered the chance to manage the others.
As I recall, that is how it worked the last time I encountered an unclaimed profile with no manager.
Private User -- No, it doesn't reassign private profiles. If it did that for you, it could have been for profiles that fell within your Family Group.
I went to Katalin Fried and then clicked Actions and then clicked "Manager Options" - I got a big button saying "Manage This Profile"
AND
Clicking "Manage This Profile" popped a box with
"This profile currently has no managers.
The creator of this profile, <private> (Private), is no longer a Geni user. Would you like to take management of all deceased profiles she added?
Yes, I'd like to manage all deceased profiles added by <private> (Private) (151 profiles)
No thanks, just let me manage this profile"
A circle to click in front of the Yes and the No.
I x'd out of the box.
So someone with any interest should be able to become Manager, including of the Private ones that are marked Deceased.
If not, somebody should report a Bug.
I do not know who provided you with the info that Geni "will not reassign private profiles, despite the wording"
I just gave it a try and am now Manager of those Private Profiles.
I do not know anything about them, and have no interest in them, so will not be editing them nor approving any merges.
So that was a big waste. But hey, I have now proven my point.
I turned Management of this one Private
over to you, [Private User Private User]
So you can see it was Private and Management had been transferred to me.
And you can see - No, it is not in my Max Family.
Should I do that for all of them, or would somebody else like them?
RE: George Knauss
This is the FG of their sibling. I'm a little leery on if the parents really match, though. Are the last names of Knauss and Noah supposed to be the same/variation of the same? https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/71608681/john-knauss
