I’m discovering my roots (by the DNA analysis I have 54% Baltic, 4% Finnish and 34% of Eastern Europe
Absolutely no close relatives, but the biggest number of the far relatives is from Finland and Sweden.
Since I have no documents and there is no one left to ask - I can only speculate.
My biggest link that I can hope to trace is russian family name Nikitin that can be connected to Finnish family name Nikkinen - my granddad family was a big family at the Belo-Kholunitskiy Zavod in Vyatka Governorate in 19-th century. They may come from Finland in 18 century and has changed their name (or it was changed by the authorities).
This may be the link?
I’m looking for any possible connection in between Nikkinen and Mikitin.
Also, since the Baltic/Finnish percentage in my DNA is very high, it’s possible that my father family line of Mironov may be also connected to Finland. Unfortunately I do not have almost no information about my roots from the father side - he was born in Karpinsk in Sverdlovsk oblast, this is all I know.
All of them ate gone long time ago, and DNA analysis has brought me some really unexpected and puzzling results.
