Adolf was my second great grandfather. I have been researching him for quite some time, and have made progress laterally with siblings and descendants, but his ancestors remain something of a mystery. The records I have found seem to indicate his father was Carl Jonsson (multiple spellings), and occasionally the surname of Thorssin was noted. I believe this to be a spelling mistake by the census, but am not certain. Most trees I have found online only note Carl Jonsson, and lack sources.
From there, everything seems to end. Carl Jonsson (possibly Karl) Thorssin (Thorsén) was born in 1809 in Berg.
I'm curious if anyone following this surname may be a cousin? Or have Thorsén relatives from the same area? I have a public tree on Ancestry and other places, as well as Gedmatch kits. My Geni profile has more info if you would like to compare.
