From Wikitree: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Wheatley-7
"The 1902 Genealogy of the Wheatley or Wheatleigh family, pp. 12-13, gives a list of children of a Frank Wheatleigh and Mary Fienes of Maiden Newton, Dorset, including "Dorothy, bapt. August 22, 1591". Though Wheatley says nothing about a connection to Bliss, Genealogy of the Bliss Family in America 1982 states that the Dorothy named in Wheatley was the same Dorothy who married Thomas Bliss on 25 Nov 1614 in Daventry, Northamptonshire. The Maiden Newton parentage for Dorothy (Wheatley) Bliss has now propagated through many online trees.
There is no evidence to support any part of this claim, and many records in fact contradict it:..."
They go on to list a series of issues with this connection, including the lack of evidence, the fact that Dorothy's marriage record in Daventry lists her as "of this p'isse [parish]" which implies she was from Daventry and the numerous other suspect claims in the lineage.
In light of these comments I suggest that Dorothy Bliss be disconnected from Capt. Frank Wheatley and Mary Wheatley. Any objections?
Sincerely,

Carrie Ann Davis Todd Warren - what’s your evidence? Did you read the discussion at Wikitree? Did you notice the more trenchant comments that her ancestry was cobbled together to give her a Royal ascent?
There’s an excellent marriage record for her, and that’s as much as we know for sure.
I and my genealogist in England thoroughly researched Dorothy Wheatley and could find NO CONNECTION to a Frank Wheatley. The only source we could find was "The 1902 Genealogy of the Wheatley or Wheatleigh family." And the author cited no sources to back up his claim.
Unless someone has found serious proof that Dorothy's father was a Frank, this branch does not belong on MY family tree, and should be deleted.
Kind Regards,
Michael
