Marriage record, obituaryPosted 26 Sep 2012 by dauber97Notes from old family tree: "John Postel was Martha Ann Postel's first born son, he lives in Uhrichville, OH. He was named by his granfather, James A. Postel, for James A.'s brother, John Postel.
His alledged biological father's name was George Gibbens, but he chose to carry his mother's name"
His biological mother Martha Parrish Postel did not marry William Van Buren Couts until 1875. John was born in 1872. However Williams Van Buren Couts raised John as his own. A direct male descedant of John S. Postel Couts would need to take a male only Y DNA chromosome test to determine if bis DNA matches to paternal Couts or a Gibbens.
More notes from the old family tree: "Two children raised by Brown family, Margaret died four months after birth of Earl with Typhoid fever. John married Nora Gamble on Nov 27, 1897, she had a daughter, Annabel."
