About the Morton surname

Thomas Morton (or Thomas E. Morton) founder of Morton's Gap Kentucky is my 4th great grandfather: Born: 1750 or 1775, Caldwell, Kentucky or 1764 Richmond? Virginia.

I cannot seem to find a lot of documentation on him. Sometimes when I am researching it will not even pick up Morton's Gap, Kentucky.

Anyone working on this same line?
