Drucker means Printer in German. When surnames became generalized in Europe (in Germany this wqs after the 1813-1814 Befreiungskrige, or Napoleonic war), some people chose their profession as surname. However, in my family, the earliest Drucker was, by all indications, NOT a printer. In fact, there was probably not a single printing shop in his town then. So, why our family was caled that name is still a bit of a mystery to me.
