I understand there were 4 brothers who immigrated to South Africa from Latvia, Russia, around the turn of the century. Two brothers Max and Charles, kept the spelling Crouse - the other two spelled their last names Krause. Charles was my grandfather, and my father was Harry Jack Crouse, born 1914. Max lived and raised his family in Springs, Transvaal, was married to ? and they had 4 daughters. Sylvia, Mignon, ?, the youngest was Norma. My father had three younger sisters - Jean, Widdie [Freda] and Nora, and a younger brother Michael who sadly died after a tragic car accident in his early 20's. Michael was a dentist. He'd had spinal injuries and was paralyzed from the neck down. In those days nothing more could be done. Jean married Sonny Bloch, who ran Sonny's Motors in Brakpan, Transvaal, not far from Springs. They had 4 children - Ronny, Martin, Terry & Lisba Widdie and her husband Punny, a doctor, lived in Durban - they had Brian, Steven and a daughter Beverley - now in Canada, married with three daughters. Nora's first husband Joe - they had Michael, and with her second husband Steven she had Susan and Andrew Rein. Steven adopted Michael [Rein]
