Ancestor of some Brenner families is likely Brenner called in antiquity by greeks Brennos,son of Schirm/Sirmios son of Brenner son of Breitmar,who attacked Delphoi in Hellás,who may also be in some kind of kinship with brena tribe in Thrakia later as well. "Brenner" in Yiddish means "burner", some referring to one use burns wood in distillation. There in an area between Austria and Italy called the "Brenner Pass"; I have heard of at least 2 Brenners (unknown to one and other) that have told this story.
