About William de Percy, Baron of Topcliffe
He attained his majority some time between mid-1212 and mid-1214. He accompanied HENRY III at the taking of William de Forz, titular Count of Aumale's castle of Biham in Lincolnshire. de Forz was another of the 25 magnates charged with ensuring the Magna Carta was observed. In the time of KING JOHN opposition would have been lawful but under HENRY it was regarded as rebellion.
