About William de Bosville of Oxmuir
Roger's son, William de Bosville of Oxmuir, &c., was witness in a donation to the monastery of Soltray by Bernard do Houden, in the reign of King Alexander the Third.
ln 1292 this William de Bosville was compelled, with other Scottish barons, to submit to Edward the First of England, when he overran Scotland with his armies, and in 1296 he was again forced to swear fealty to the English king.
His son, Richard Bosville of Oxmuir, besides his estate in Berwickshire, was proprietor of other lands near Ardrossan in Ayrshire, as appears by a charter under the great seal from King Robert the Bruce, about 1320.
