William Henderson

Pinkie Cleugh was the last engagement between English and Scottish national armies. The English were commanded by Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset, and the Scots by James Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Arran. It was an English victory.

William Henderson was the son of George Henderson, 2nd of Fordell and Katherine Adamson.[2]

He and Elizabeth Scott obtained a marriage license on 23 November 1543.[1]

He died on 10 September 1547 at Pinkie, Midlothian, Scotland, killed in action.[1]

On 23 March 1546 he was granted the hereditary Provostship of Inverkeithing, but never took up the office.[1]

He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547.[1]
