Biography

William Cutter was baptized at the Cambridge church. He and his wife were admitted to the church July 28, 1700, and some of this info came from his family Bible. He resided in that part of the town called Menotomy on the banks of the stream flowing from Lexington through Arlington to the Mystic River. Here he received from his wife's father an acre of land and purchased some more on April 10, 1684. This land was the west cornere of the Rolfe homestead. Later he sold the house he built there to his son, John, and apparently moved into the home of the Rolfes which was built in 1671. He inherited his father's estate and was a housewright by trade. He was also a farmer, dealt in real estate, and had a mill on the banks of the stream near his house.

William made his will on June 1, 1722, and it was proved April 29, 1723.
