DO NOT CHANGE OR MERGE THESE PROFILES WITHOUT CONTACTING OWNER FIRST AS THERE IS INCORRECT INFORMATION ON OTHER SOURCES AND THESE HAVE BEEN SET UP WITH DETAILED RESEARCH DONE. THANK YOU.

Notes: 1. I dont agree that he was was die seun van Steven Jansz. Botma en hendrika Hendriks. 2. No BOTMAs recorded in Wageningen.I think the Botma name was adopted due to the improvement in his financial & social standing. 3. Born too early to be Steven Janz. Sons. I think Cornelis and Jan Stevensz are his brothers. 4.. Wikitree note: hendrickie het in 1664 na die Kaap gekom en by haar man aangesluit. Sy was vergesel deur haar stiefseun, Jan Stevens (de Oude) en haar seun Cornelis. To-date only notes are made to this effect. The sources given do not state this information OR no sources are provided to support the statement. 5. This cannot be correct as steven Jansz. Last 2 children was born.in South Africa: refer to Estate papers of Steven Jansz. And children births in muster rolls. 6. Jan Stevens & Cirnelis did not arrive at Cape together:

Jan Steven van Wageningenvoor matroos en d'Camer Amsterdam anno 1675 pr. 't schip Ceijlon uijtgecomen en voor vrijman aangelant." Het Nationaal Archief, Den Haag, VOC inventory 4017 Ingekomen Stukken (1681-1682): section called: The Journael en grootboeck van de vrijluijden vir 1681
Cornelisz Stevensz: Botma(from Wageningen [in Gelderland])] arrive the following year (17 November 1658) on the "Harp" ...

7.'Geslacht Register De Oude Kaapsche Familien: Vol 1:  Ghristojfel Goe/see de Villiers: 1884: Jan, gedoopt 23 Juli 1670 : cannot be the Jan that married Christina Steents as he would have been 5 years old when working for VOC & sailing jn the Ceylon. 8.Geslacht Register De Oude Kaapsche Familien: Vol 1:  Ghristojfel Goe/see de Villiers: 1884: gphuwd 22 Februari le92 met Christina Steents. van Gielendam is incorrect according to muster rolls of 1682

1679 Muster roll: Jan Stevensz

1682, 22 Feb: married Christina Stans : NG Kerk Cape town: Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, Kerken Boek (Mar), 1665-1695: ao' 1682. den 22. Febr. Jan Stevens jonghman en vrij-man aed de Caep, en Stijntie Stants, jonge dogter van Giesendam

1682  muster roll: Jan Stevense en Stijntie Stans Note: Thus Jan Stevensz could not have been the son of Steven Janz as he would have married at 12 years old or 14 at the most. So assumed for now that he is the one of the Botma brothers to come to South Africa and have Steven Janz name his son after as done with brother Cornelis. 2. There is no listings for Stans in any of the previous muster rolls so Stijntie was not born nor living in South Africa prior to 1682. CAVEAT there is a gap in the muster rolls for 1680 ans 1681.

1685: muster roll: Jan Stevense en Stijntie Stans

1686: 1. Jan Stevensz & Stijntie Stansz   2. Steven Jansz en Hendriekje v. Cape Town Archives Repository, South Africa. Reference code: C. 18, pp. 89−90.. Vrijdag den 20. December 1686 NOTES: see notes on 1687 resolution.

1687: referring to Hoofd−Officieren der burgerie :" Jan Stevensz Botma tot Corporals". Resolutions of the Council of Policy of Cape of Good Hope. Cape Town Archives Repository, South Africa. Reference code: C. 19, pp. 37−40. Woensdag 2 Julij 1687 AND Reference code: C. 19, pp. 67−70.. Maandag 1 December 1687. NOTE: "[9] Seun van Steven Jansz Botma, getroud met Christina Stants van Giessendam"(Sien C.J.2597: Testamenten, 1691−1700, pp. 43−47). I donot agree he was the son of Steven Jansz. As no sources have been presented that states that relationship.

1688: Jan Stevensz en Christina Stans

1690: Jan Stevensz Botma 1691: name "Jan Stevensz Botma" listed twice

1696; muster roll 1. Steven Jansz Botma en Hendrickje Hendriks 2. Jan Stevensz Botma en Christina de Bruijn 3. de wede. Botma 4. Cornelis Stevensz Botma en Jannetje Geeraards

1698 1. Jan Stevensz Botma en Catharina de Bruijn  1 k. 2. Stevens Jansz Botma en Hendrickje Hendrix 3. Cornelis Stevens Botma en Jannetie Geraards 5 k.

1700 1. Jan Stevens Botma en Stijntie de Bruijn 2. de wede. van Steven Jansz Botma 3. Jan Stevensz Botma en Jannetjie Gerrits 4. Johannis Heufke en Alida Botman
