Sir Thomas Tyrrell (d. 28 March 1477) of Heron in East Horndon, Essex ... married Anne Marney, who was still unmarried when her father made his will in August 1414. ... By Anne Marney the testator had four sons and two daughters:

Sir William Tyrrell the younger (d. before 16 May 1475), eldest son and heir apparent, who predeceased his father. Some sources identify him as the Sir William Tyrrell slain at the Battle of Barnet on 14 April 1471; however the Sir William Tyrrell slain at Barnet appears to have been the testator’s brother, Sir William Tyrrell (d.1471?) of Beeches in Rawreth, Essex (see above).

Sir William Tyrrell the younger married firstly Eleanor Darcy, and secondly, circa 30 June 1470, Eleanor Hungerford (d.1483?), the daughter of Robert Hungerford (1409- 1459), 2nd Baron Hungerford, and widow of John White (d.1469) of South Warnborough, Hampshire. After the death of Sir William Tyrrell, Eleanor Hungerford married thirdly Sir Henry Fitz Lewes (d. 9 May 1480), second son of Sir Lewes John (d. 27 October 1442) of West Horndon, Essex, citizen and vintner of London, and Alice de Vere (d.1433), daughter of Aubrey de Vere (c.1338 – 15 February 1400), 10th Earl of Oxford. For Eleanor Hungerford, see Richardson, Douglas, Magna Carta Ancestry, 2nd ed., 2011, Vol. II, pp. 429-30, 501-2, and Broek, Daniel at: < Wikitree >.

30 June 1470
Westminster

Pardon to William Tyrell the younger, knight, and Eleanor, late the wife of John White, tenant in chief, of their trespass in intermarrying without licence. By privy seal. See CPR 1467-77, p. 211 at:
< Hathitrust >

In the will below [of Thomas Tyrrell in 1475], Eleanor Darcy is mentioned as Sir William Tyrrell’s first wife:

And also that a stone be ordained for Sir William Tyrrell, my son, with his image and the image of Dame Alianor [=Eleanor], his first wife, thereupon to be made with their arms and furniture about them, the which stone I will shall be laid upon his burying-place in Friar Austins of London.

Eleanor Darcy is said to have been the daughter of Sir Robert Darcy (d. 3 September 1448) of Maldon, Essex, a prominent lawyer, and Keeper of the Writs of the Common Pleas, by his second wife, Alice Filongley, daughter of Henry Filongley of Warwickshire, Serjeant of the Royal Scullery, and Knight of the Shire for Warwickshire. For the inquisition post mortem taken after his death, see TNA C 139/136/40. See also Richardson, Douglas, Magna Carta Ancestry, 2nd ed., 2011, Vol. III, p. 216 at:

See also the Darcy pedigree in Metcalfe, Walter C., ed., The Visitations of Essex, Part I, (London: Harleian Society, 1878), Vol. XIII, pp. 44-5 at: < Archive.Org >.

It should be noted that the Darcy pedigree erroneously states that the Robert Darcy (d. 3 September 1448) who married Alice Filongley was buried at Maldon in 1402, as does Barrett. See Barrett, C.R.B., Essex: Highways, Byways And Waterways, (London: Lawrence & Bullen, 1893), p. 150 at:
< Archive.Org >

As the testator’s eldest son and heir had predeceased him the testator’s heir was his grandson, Sir William Tyrrell’s son, Sir Thomas Tyrrell (c.1453-1510?), as noted in the ODNB:

http://www.oxford-shakespeare.com/Probate/PROB_11-6-417.pdf Page 10

Sir Thomas [ii] Tyrell of Heron (c.1411–1476), followed his father into the king's service, and was a knight of the body by 1452. ... With his wife, Anne, the daughter of Sir William Marney of Layer Marney, Essex, Thomas had four sons ...The eldest, William, predeceased him and was buried with his wife, Alianore Darcy, at the Church of the Austin Friars, London, where Thomas's father and stepmother were also buried. Sir Thomas's heir was thus William's son Sir Thomas [iii] Tyrell (c.1453–1510?).

The testator’s eldest son, Sir William Tyrrell (d.1471?), is also said to have had two daughters, Alice Tyrrell, who married John or Robert Rochester, and Maud Tyrrell, who married Robert White (see King, supra, p. 90). However in the will below the testator names the two daughters of Sir William Tyrrell as Elizabeth Tyrrell and Alice Tyrrell, and it is thus possible that Sir William Tyrrell’s daughter, Elizabeth Tyrrell, was the wife of Robert Rochester (d. 15 May 1508). See the will of Sir Thomas Tyrrell of Heron, TNA PROB 11/6/417.
