Sir William Saunders, of Banbury

According to the National Archives Prob 11/59, f. 72:

William Saunders of Banbury, Oxfordshire was the great-grandson of Sir Thomas Cook, a wealthy draper, who was lord mayor of London in 1462-3.

At the time of her marriage to William Cope, Jane Spencer was the widow of William Saunders (died c.1493), by whom she had four daughters,

1. Anne,
2. Isabel,
3. Joyce and
4. Alice.[10]
