    Sir James de Lindsay of Crawford was the son of Sir David de Lindsay of Crawford and Maria Abernethy.2 He married Egidia Stewart, daughter of Walter Stewart, 6th High Steward of Scotland and Isabella Graham, on 21 April 1346.2 He died in 1357.1

In 1351 he was a hostage for King David.2 He lived at Crawford, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He held the office of Scottish Ambassador to England in 1357.2
