About Sir James Graham of Braco, 4th Baronet
Biographical Summary
"Sir James Graham, Baronet [S 1625] of Braco, son and heir; succeeded to the Baronetcy about 1684; under 25 years of age in 1685, being then next agnate, on the father's side, to James, 4th Marquess of Montrose [S]. He died unmarried, but the date, however, is not given in his funeral escutcheon. At his death the Baronetcy became dormant, the issue male of the grantee and that of his only younger brother (Sir Robert Graham of Scotstoun, who died s.p. in or before October 1617), being, apparently, extinct. In that case the title would vest in the Dukes of Montrose [S], the heirs male of the body of he grantee's eldest brother, John, 4th Earl of Montrose [S]."
