The Church of Tullibardine
The Church of Tullibardine: "was founded in honour of our Blessed Saviour, for a provost and several prebendaries, by Sir David Murray of Tullibardine, ancestor of the Duke of Athol, in the year 1446. Sir David died the same year and was buried in the church, where his arms (Fig. 1259) still remain on the interior of the north side of the choir, quartered with those of his wife ISOBEL, second daughter of Sir John Stewart of Iimermeith and Lorn. The lady's arms, it will be observed, occupy the first and fourth quarters." Ecclesiastical Architecture of III: 330
Biographical Summary from the Scots Peerage
Sir David Murray, who, in 1389, had a charter from Euphemia, Countess Palatine of Strathearn, of the lands of Camsyny and Bernaglis, in the Earldom of Strathearn, and IT IS CONJECTURED that he married ISOBEL, daughter of Sir John Stewart of Innermeath and Lorn, who survived him, and that the arms of Stewart, quartered with those of Murray in Tullibardine church, refer to this marriage. SIR DAVID MURRAY OF TULLIBARDINE acquired Camsyny and Barneglis in Strathearn from Sir Malcolm Drummond, a grant confirmed by Eufemia, Countess Palatine of Strathearn, 1389; married as her 2nd husband ISABEL, daughter of Sir John Stewart of Innermeath (see MORAY, E), and had, with other issue: Sir DAVID MURRAY OF TULLIBARDINE.
