https://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/SCOTTISH%20NOBILITY%20UNTITLED.htm...
SIR COLIN CAMPBELL was married to Margaret, daughter of Sir John Drummond of Stobhall. Their children were Duncan, Colin, and Donald. Sir Colin was employed by King Robert II in restraining the incursions of the Highlanders in the western parts of Scotland, which occupation he accomplished to the king’s satisfaction.
Colin "Iongarrlach" (the Wonderful) received a charter in 1361 from his kinswoman Christina heiress of Dugald of Craignish to lands in Craignish. In 1364 he had a deed of gift from Robert Erskine of Erskine to Menstrie belonging to the son of John Campbell of Menstrie. He obtained a grant from Robert III to land in Nether Cowal 20 June 1404. He also had a charter from Robert, Duke of Albany to the lands of Strachachy in the barony of Cowal Stewart and of all other lands which he held of the Earl of Menteith dated Stirling 5 May 1409. These grants were mostly in reward for his assisting the King in restraining the incursions of the Highlanders who had invaded the western parts of the country.
The family of Dunstaffnage is descended from Dugald Mor son to Colin longantach Knight of Lochow by his second wife, Mariota. Duntroon is descended from Duncan a younger son of same Colin and. Melfort is descended from Sir Colin Oig grandfather to Colin longantach.
