Stafford Co Bryant Y DNA of this Bryant group is RU106 and had already chromosome mapped back to gen atDna 8 gens back with cMs in the 15cM plus for the cousins in this downline to the cousins on the adjacent lines. Though no paper trail links the families that is made public here in this datat base, the Patawomeck Tribe has the records of their enrollment familes and their histories. Contributions from Elinor Owens ' and Phyllis Gallop's line to the Bryant cousins in larger groups, the ones with and without Gallop included. The Keziah claimants have very strong numbers triangulating at 1 145. The 4th and 5th cousin distances to the Owens and Bryant cousins are definitely not too far back to be seen and used to help solve these trees.

Parents. That Silent Bryant was son of Richard Bryant and Keziah Arroyah is claimed by Patawomack historian William "Bill" Deyo.[1] Volunteers with WikiTree's Native American project can find no evidence that either Richard Bryant or Keziah existed. Using Deyo's own figures, at the time of Silent's estimated birth, Keziah would have been either very young or had not be born herself, if she even existed.

First Wife. Silent’s traditional first wife was supposedly Lucy Doniphan (Proposed 1st wife of Silent Bryant) but no record of her or any marriage can be found (outside of Deyo's article). There is no reason to believe his first wife was a Doniphan or named Lucy, but it is said her name has been carried on as a given name among some of her descendants. She is believed to have left only one child, a daughter, Elinor, who remained in the area of her birth while her father moved away with his second wife.

Biography

Silent is found in relatively few records in Old Rappahanock County and in Essex County. He was paid several times for killing wolves.

Last Residence gift deeded to Elinor Owens by her grandfather, this Silent Bryant, who obtained said land from his grandmother, Mary (Wahanganoche) Meese who had it returned in the early probated will of her grandson in a court by Judge Grigsby. This land was Acquian Land, 824 A in Stafford Co Deed Book.

Silent was was born in c 1657 in Stafford, Va at the Richard Bryant of Stafford Co and wife Keziah Arroyah (Wahanganoche) land on Muddy Creek, which bordered Rappahannock Parish. When he could buy his own land, his neighbor, James Harrison who had moved back over the Patomeck River to the Essex Co side, where Harrison was appointed to appraise the estate of Silent Bryant in Essex Co, 11 June 1698 Bk 1:101, is recorded. Later, on April 12, 1701: James Harrison of Swan Creek, Sittingbourne Parish, Essex Co, sold 12 acres on the south side of the lower side of small out of Swan Creek to Charles Taliaferro for 1800 lbs of tobacco and there was this new neighbor, the Taliaferro family. The Harrison and Taliaferro married into the Rice Hooe lines and had some lines who were native who continued to marry natives, for example: The Owens and Smith original deed witnesses for these deed is noted. At least one native, William Bryant, took on the name of Bryant and was an orphan of the massacre. . His parents were Richard Bryant, transported to the Stafford area (then Westmoreland) about 1644 to 1650 by Christopher Boon and Keziah Bryant. Silent married Grace (Taliaferro) Bryant. He died on May 15, 1704 in Stafford, Virginia, USA. He gift deeded Acquian Land, 824 A to Richard Gallop (wife of Eleanor born Bryant and married Gallop and John Owens) and 4 others (named children of Nathaniel Bryant). The land of Silents originated from the earliest tracts of Mary Meese per her being Acquian.

The land that was in probate under Judge Grigsby went back from son of John Stafford /Crafford/Grafford on the transcript naming his grandmother who had given him the land, Mrs Henry Meese and that same land went to Silent Bryant who gift deeded it to 4 of his children and son in law, Robert Gallop, who passed it down to Elinor (Gallop), his daughter.
