Was sergeant of NC Milita during War for American Independence and fought, variously, against both Indians and the British as documented in his Pension Application (s31815, filed March 4, 1831 and accepted June 7, 1831). Married a full-blood Cherokee Indian, first name sevilla (ca 1760-6 May 1847) and lived in Montgomery, Rowan, Lincoln, and buncombe Counties, NC, Blount County, TN, Madison co, MS Territory AL, and finally Limestone County, AL where he died in 7/18/1835. Buried there, beside wife, near Lentz chapel. Grave marked by REvolutionary War vdeteran's marker.



Military records: Served in Revolutionary War, Volunteered from NC in Oct. 1775, discharged Jan. 1, 1776. Again volunteered Oct. 1, 1777, discharged in December. Next volunteered Marcy 1778, discharged July 28, 1776. Again volunteered as orderly sergeant Aug. 1781, discharged Oct. 26, 1981.

Application for Rev. War Pension made Sept. 19, 1832 In Limestone County.

1835, AL Pension Roll lists Henry Lentz, Limestone Co., Private, June 14, 1833. Pension No. 531815

Pension of $59.33 per annum to commence March 4, 1831. Total payment of arrears to March 4, 1981 was $118.77 with semi-annual allowance Sept. 4, 1833 of $29.67. Total payment was $148.33.

Henry pruchased 300 acres on Riles Creek in Rowan on the Montgomery Co. line on May 5, 1787, Bk 12, p. 35 only nine monhs and twenty four days after his father had been issued 190 acres about 19 miles further north in Rowan Co. Henry's father P-Peter Lentz, sells his 190 acres and two days later Henry sell his 300 acres for the same price he paid for it , 80 pounds on May 11, 1971 Bk 13, p. 854. He said he moved then to Lincoln Co. NC.
