4. Sarah Balcom, daughter of Alexander Balcom and his first wife, was born about 1663. Sarah married Timothy Sheldon, son of John Sheldon and Joanna Vincent, circa 1684. Timothy was born on 29 Mar 1661 in Pawtuxet, RI3 and died on 31 Mar 1744 in Johnstown, RI3 aged 83.

While notes in the Family section below reference Sarah's mother as Jane Holbrook, the marriage of Sarah's father, Alexander, and Jane Holbrook, took place several years after Sarah's birth year. Some researchers believe Sarah was one of three children born to Alexander and his first wife, whose name is unknown.
