About Sarah Newton
Sarah Howe Newton was born on January 28, 1675 at Sudbury, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts to Isaac Howe and Frances Woods. Records of Marlborough, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts show that Sarah Howe married Moses Newton, Jr. there on Sunday, December 11, 1695. She died on December 3 or 4, 1733 in the Southboro section of Marlborough. She periodically appears on-line with an incorrect 1720s date of death.
Most of what is known about her comes via her husband's connections to the Rice family. She appears mentioned throughout Andrew Henshaw Ward's A Genealogical History of the Rice Family: Descendants of Deacon Edmund Rice, though never in great detail.
With Moses, she had:
- Isaac Newton, b. 1696
- Beulah Newton, b. 1697
- Moses Newton III, b. 1699
- Elisha Newton, b. 1701
- Sarah Newton, b 1703
