John married Sarah Ann Richards in Ann Arundel County MD December 23, 1779. Sarah was born in Hartford County MD about 1760 and died there before 1793. John married Sarah Hood O'Brien in Hartford County about 1798. Sarah was born in Hartford County about 1770 and was apparently a widow. She died in Lewis County after the 1830 census.

John married Sarah Ann Richards in Ann Arundel County MD December 23, 1779. Sarah was born in Hartford County MD about 1760 and died there before 1793. John married Sarah Hood O'Brien in Hartford County about 1798. Sarah was born in Hartford County about 1770 and was apparently a widow. She died in Lewis County after the 1830 census.

J.D. Warfield's "Founders of Ann Arundel Co. MD", speaks of Sarah (Hood) [O'Brien] Jarvis and states, "There is no accounting for what happened between Sarah and John Jarvis. It would seem that she chose to remain in MD at the estate property of her ancestors, while he chose to go west." Warfield must not have been aware of the death date of Sarah Ann (Richards) Jarvis.
