Richard Beaumont, Esq. of Whitley Beaumont

Richard Beaumont, Esq. of Whitley Beaumont, who paid the fine of fire pounds to be released from being made a Knight of the Bath, anno 21st Henry VII., and pleaded the same at the creation of the Prince of Wales, 7th Henry VIII. He had a crest granted to his ancient coat armour, by patent, 10 May, 1513. He m. 1st, (marriage covenants dated 10 Jan., 4th Henry VII.) Johanna, dau. of John Sandford, of Thorp Salrin, co. York, and had, with two daus., (Elizabeth, wife of John Wood, Esq. of Longley; and Cecilia, of Richard Lockwood, Esq. of Colleralcy, co. York,) an only son,

Roger, who m. Johanna, dau. of Arthur Ptlklngton, Esq., of Bradley, anil predeceasing his father, 19th Henbt VIII., left a dau., Elisabeth, living in 1540, and a son, Richard, successor to his grandfather.
