He married Mary Trainum about 1782 in Granville County, North Carolina.
Father of eight children.
Resident of Guilford County (present-day Rockingham County), North Carolina from 14 November 1782 onward, where he farmed near present-day Oregon Hill (Ruffin Township).
Reuben Tyler wrote his will on 18 November 1832. It was probated later the same month.
