The famous Rabbi Zvi Hirsh Heller (1776-1834, Encyclopedia L'Chachmei Galicia, Vol. 2 pp. 665-671), leading Hungarian Rabbi, called "Rabbi Hirsh Charif" because of his sharp (charif in Hebrew) intellect served as Rabbi in Brzesko (Galicia) and later, head of the yeshiva in Brody. Was forced to flee the city following a slander, reached Hungary and served in the rabbinate of the Bonyhád, Uzhhorod and Óbuda communities. Some of his disciples became prominent Torah scholars such as Rebbe Zvi Hirsh, Rabbi of Lesko (http://www.daat.ac.il/encyclopedia/value.asp?id1=155) and Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried, author of the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch.

Rabbi in Brigidau, Galicia and later on famous Rosh Yeshiva in Brody. Was forced to flee the city due to an informing; arrived in Hungary and served in the rabbinate of communities of Bonyhad, Ungvar and Oven-Yashan. His father Rabbi Aryeh Leib Heller served as a Dayan in Zamosc, at the time that R' Isaac Hochgelehrter, A.B.D. Chelm author of Zichron Yitzchok, was serving as Rabbi of Zamosc (1807-1826).
