About Pte. Albert Herbert Agnew
Albert Herbert Agnew was born at Tolaga Bay on the East Coast of New Zealand's North Island on 16 February 1895. His parents were Albert Peter Agnew and Charlotte Drummond Agnew (née Lockwood) who had married in 1887. During World War I Albert served with the Otago Infantry Regiment (Service No. WWI 30153). Albert was wounded at Ypres. He died of his wounds at the Anzac Corps Main Dressing Station on 17 October 1917. 22-year-old Albert was buried in the Brandhoek New Military Cemetery No 3 [I. L. 15].
