HISTOIRE DES CANADIENS-FRANCAIS, 1608-1880. Volume IV. Chapter VIII, page 152. --- No need to look for it, it is attached to Andree and Antoine. Go to "Fact and Sources" click on the record, they are half way down the page. Be surprised, see who else is on this page! --- The bottom line reads: Rene Landry (53) and wife Perrine Bourg (no age), Pierre 13, Claude 8. --- Note that Rene (born 1618) and Perrine had a son named Claude. Rene (born 1634) and Marie Bernard also had a son Claude. So we have two Rene’s with 2 sons Claude’s, what a genealogist nightmare! --- This census is year 1671, doing some math we come up with: if you subtract 53 (Rene’s age) from the year 1671, you have 1618, his correct birth year. Then do Claude, age 8, his birth year would be 1663. He is in the 1686 census and has birth year 1663 also. The other Claude (mother Marie Bernard) is in the 1686 census and he also was born in 1663! Biography
Full Sequence mtDNA Haplogroup H14b1 Earliest Known Ancestor
Full Sequence mtDNA Haplogroup H14b1 Earliest Known Ancestor

Perrine was born about 1626[1] in France. Her parents are not known, though one theory is Simon Bourg and Helene Comtee. Another theory is that Antoin Bourg was her brother[2] which has been disproven.[3] Another theory is that she is Perrine Rau, and that is also disproven.[2]

Note: While Perrine's potential place of birth in France had been suggested to be Martaizé (which was near Loudun in Poitou), no corresponding source documents or citations have been identified, her parents are considered unknown, and neither White DGFA nor any other reference cited appears to identify her birth as being at Martaizé. Without further information or a source being identified, her birth is noted as being in France with the particular locality being unknown.
Around 1640, Perrine married Simon Pelletret. She gave birth to two children: Henriette (b. 1641) and Jeanne (b.1643).[1]. No additional children are documented or present in any census.

After Simon died, around 1645,[1] Perrine married René Landry (L'Aîné) in Port Royal.[1] Between 1646 and 1663 Perrine gave birth to five additional children: Marie (b.c1646), Marie (b.c1650), Madeleine (1655), Pierre (1658), and Claude (1663).[1]

Twenty six years later, they are found in Port Royal with her daughters from Simon living with the family.[4] Most of the children were gone by 1678; only the three youngest were still there.[5]

By 1686, at Port Royal, Rene had died. Perine [sic] BOURC [sic], mother, aged 74 [sic], was living with her son, Claude LANDRY, aged 24, her daughter-in-law, Marguerite TERRIOT [sic], aged 20, and her granddaughter, Marguerite [sic], aged 18 months. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 3 arpents of cultivable land with 7 cattle, 8 sheep, and 6 hogs.[6]

In 1693, at Port Royal, Perrine BOURG, aged 67, widow of Rene LANDRY, was living with her son, Claude LANDRY, aged 33, and Claude's wife, Marguerite TERIOT [sic], aged 26, and her four grandchildren: Madeleine, aged 8, Marie, aged 6, Claude, aged 3, and Marguerite, aged 1. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 32 arpents of cultivable land with 15 cattle, 15 sheep, and 6 [sic] pigs.[7]

Perrine died after the 1693 Census,[1] as she is not listed in the 1698 accounting.[8]

DNA. The Mothers of Acadia Maternal DNA project is conducting ongoing research to verify their origins. In 2010, Stephen White reported that Perrine Bourg had an H14 haplogroup. The details of how many of her descendants were tested to support this report or any updates are unknown. Ongoing test results are also reported here. As of May 2014, 9 descendants have consistently reported an H haplogroup, indicating European origins.
