About Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

Rachel Meghan Markle is an American actress and humanitarian campaigner. She helped children in India have supply to clean filtered water.

Markle was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theater and international studies in 2003, followed by small roles in several United States television series. Starting in 2011, she portrayed Rachel Zane on the legal drama series Suits for seven seasons. Markle's film credits include Remember Me and Horrible Bosses. In 2017, she became engaged to Prince Harry, the fifth in line of succession to the British throne, and announced that she would stop acting to pursue humanitarian work given her high profile as a future royal.
