Matthew Beat

Matthew "Matt" Beat (born: November 6, 1981 [age 39]), better known online as Mr. Beat, is an American history teacher and musician who makes educational videos.

Mr. Beat makes videos teaching geography, American history, world history, political history, and economics. His most popular series is Compared, a geography series which compares two places around the world. He also has a series called Supreme Court Briefs, which looks at important Supreme Court cases in American history.

Beat is known as an American Presidential history buff, with songs about all of the former American Presidents and a series chronicling every presidential election in American history. He also occasionally creates historical parody songs and original history songs for his band Electric Needle Room. Mr. Beat is also very critical of conservative YouTube channel PragerU, he has made many videos criticizing it.

Beat is known for his dry humor, and creativity when it comes to jokes and comedy. He’s also known for occasionally being biased towards people from his home state of Kansas.

His discord server is one with a massive history spanning over years, which includes Laken, Casey Flatguy, Helmer, Rusty Shacklefold, Osbers Gaming and Waterfort.

History
He created his YouTube channel in August 2009 though he didn't upload anything until January 2011. His oldest videos were originally only intended to show his actual students in his classroom. Once the videos took off, he expanded his content. He now has Compared, Supreme Court Briefs, Presidential Elections In American History, among others.

Personal life
He was born in Topeka, Kansas, United States, and went to the University of Kansas for college, and currently lives in the Kansas City area. He currently is a high school social studies teacher. He was raised Catholic.[1]
