By 1747 Talmon Harbour was a young man in his twenties, married to Mary Wright , who bore him a son, Esaias, on 29 May 1747. Over the next few years, more children were born. Family tradition that has been passed down states that Talmon and Mary had 14 children.

Mary's birth surname is Wright, but no further information is known about her parents. She is NOT the daughter of Francis Wright and Mary Hawkins - their daughter is Mary Shelton.
