Martha Brashears, daughter of Robert Brasseur / Brashears and his wife Florence of Nansemond County, Virginia. was born about 1643 at Isle of Wight County, Virginia, and died after 1688 in North Farnham Parish, Old Rappahannock County, Virginia - probate.
She married twice.
- Capt. William Moseley (1632-1677). Married before 31 January 1660 at Sittingbourne Parish, Essex County, Virginia
- Capt. George Taylor (1630-1706). Married before Bef 6 Nov 1684 Old Rappahannock County, Virginia.

MOSELEY, hath not yet had any allowance of her Paraphernalia out of her deceased Husbands Estate, It is by this Court thought fitt and accordingly ordered that the said Mrs. MARTHA MOSELEY now marryed to Capt. GEORGE TAYLER be allowed Twelve hundred pounds of tob: out of the said Capt. MOSELEYs Estate, it being the Apprizement of one bed and furniture belonging to the Estate of the sd Capt. MOSELEY

Martha Brashears was born circa 1643, in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, a daughter of Robert Brashears, who immigrated from Kent, England and his wife Florence Fowke.
Martha's first husband was William Moseley, born before 1632, in Lower Norfolk County, Virginia. They became the parents of five children, before he died, prior to January 3, 1677, in Sittinbourne Parish, Essex County, Virginia at age 45.
Before November 6, 1684, in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia, Martha married George Taylor.
Rappahannock County Court 4th of September 1685 - Whereas CATHERINE BOOTH, one of the Orphans of Capt. HUMPHREY BOOTH some time since of this County deced, made humble suit to this Court and that being arrived at full age, she the sd CATHERINE might be vested wth the half part of her Fathers Estate given her by his last Will & Testamt., And Whereas the sd CATHERINE in her minority was by the aforesd. Will placed under the care of Mrs. MARTHA MOSELEY, Wife of Capt. WM. MOSELEY, since deceased, who in right of the Orphan possessed himself of the half part of the sd Capt. BOOTHs Estate, The Court therefore seriously weighing the matter have thought fitt & accordingly order that Capt. GEO: TAYLER, (who intermarryed wth MARTHA the Relict & Administratrx. of the sd Capt. WM. MOSELEY & since hath obtained Quietus est from the sd MOSELEYs Estate excepting Three thousand pounds of tobb & cask) do forthwith pay unto the sd CATHERINE BOOTH the sd Three thousand pounds of tobb & cask als exe.
In the Will of Robert Tomlin, of Old Rappahannock County, Virginia, Martha Taylor is named as his cousin: "Item I give unto my Cozen Martha Taylor my mare about two years old with her increase to her & her heirs forever" The entirety of the Will is transcribed on her Colonial Settlers page.

George Taylor's will proves conclusivley he did not marry Martha Brasseur, or
Martha Brashears - the widow of William Moseley.
When George Taylor's will was probated ... his widow was named - Susannah - the Taylor family has extensive documentation on this particular George Taylor, and he was twice married.

THIS INDENTURE made the 31st January Witnesseth that whereas ROBERT BRUSNER formerly of the County of NAZEMUNN gent now deced did by his last Will & Testamt. give unto his Daughter MARTHA now Wife me WILLIAM MOSELEY as part (missing) portion seven hundred & fifty acres of land situate & being (missing) NANZEMUM called be (missing) the INDIAN TOWN (missing) Will doth appear be(missing) of the aforesaid County NOW KNOW all men by these presents that I the said WILLIAM MOSELEY & MARTHA my Wife do hereby acknowledge to have sold all our right & interest of the aforesaid land from us our heirs or assignes unto RICHARD STAPLES of the County NANZEMUM to him his heirs or assignes for Ever the said Land to Hold with all priviledges thereunto belonging in as full & ample manner as was granted unto the said ROBT. BRUSNER by his Patent or conveyance now Know further that one hundred & fifty acres of the aforesd seven hundred and fifty cres was purchased of one THOMAS MUMFORD & the other six hundred taken up by the said ROBERT BRUSNER now therefore know that we have hereby sold & conveyed & do hereby sell & convey unto the said RICHARD STAPLES his heirs & assignes our due right & interest of the aforesaid land for Ever for a certain satifacion in hand received & in witness that this is truth & our voluntary act & deed we have both the said WILLIAM & MARTHA hereunto sett our hands this day above menconed being the 31st January 1659 being signed sealed & delivered in the presence of
