About Major Isaac Carter
Isaac Carter (abt 1716 - aftr 8 Jul 1792) Isaac born about 1716 in Isle of Wright lived until 1792 by which time he was living in Hertford County, North Carolina and married to Sarah Browne, the daughter of ?; – did not take part in the Revolutionary War, but according to historian William Price, “he appears to have provided the soldiers with a stream of supplies worth at least 10,000 pounds in local currency. Isaac had four sons, three of whom fought the British during the Revolution. Isaac Carter, Sr left a will in which he appointed his son, Lazarus Carter, his executor. His daughter Parthenia married Shadrack Rutland, November 12, 1775.
