Maj. George Norsworthy, Sr.

George Norsworthy (son of Tristram Norsworthy II and Sarah Pitt; son of Tristram Norsworthy, Gentleman) was born 1680 in Nansemond County, Virginia, and died AFT 04 DEC 1724 in Nansemond County, Virginia and before 12 March 1724/25.

He married first to [Elizabeth SIC: Martha] Webb on ABT 1700, daughter of James Webb Sr. and Elizabeth Godwin. She was born ABT 1675 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

• i. Elizabeth Norsworthy, married John Munro.
• ii. Martha Norsworthy, married John Bressie.

He married second to Christian Exum AFT 1717, daughter of Judge Jeremiah Exum and Ann Lawrence. She was born in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. Jeremiah Exum was one of the leading Quakers.

Their children:

• iii. Christian Norsworthy, born about 1720. Married James Tooke Scott.
• iv. George Norsworthy, born about 1725.
