William Fitzhugh was born 1707 at "Eagle's Nest", Stafford County, Virginia, he died there on 6 December 1742. He was the son of William Fitzhugh and Anne Lee. Called "Jr." to distinguish him from others of similar name.

Lucy Carter married 2nd in 1744 at King George's County to Nathaniel Harrison.
Nathaniel Harrison was born 1703 at Wakefield, Surry County, and died 1 October 1791 at Eagle's Nest, King George County, Virginia. He was the son of Nathaniel Harrison and Mary Cary. He may have married first to Evelyn Byrd in 1726. He married Mary Digges (1717-1744) on 23 August 1736. with whom he had three or four children. No children by his 2nd wife.
Biography
Daughter of the fabuously wealthy Robert (King) Carter-she first married Henry Fitzhugh. Of "Eagle's Nest". He was LT-Col. of Stafford Militia. He was a member of the House of Burgesses and was candidate for Speaker. Their granddaughter [Mary Lee "Molly" Fitzhugh] married George Washington Custis, adopted son of George Washington.

FITZHUGH, HENRY [Esquire, Colonel] (c.1706-1742) of "Eagle's Nest," Saint Paul's Parish, Stafford (now King George) County, died there intestate with large land holdings in several counties including King George in which records before his death he is often called Esquire Fitzhugh. COB #2, Page 339 : 3 June 1743 = Hancock Lee, James Strother, Benjamin Berryman and Enoch Innis, or any three of them first sworn, are appointed to appraise the estate of Henry Fitzhugh, Esquire, deceased, in King George County and make their report to Stafford County Court where administration was granted to Lucy Fitzhugh and Charles Carter, Esquire.
Lucy (Carter) Fitzhugh (171?-1773), daughter of Colonel Robert Carter of "Corotoman," Lancaster County, married second Colonel Nathaniel Harrison (1713-1791) of "Brandon," Prince George County, and Colonel Nathaniel Harrison frequently appears on the King George County court records.
The Honorable William Fitzhugh (1741-1809) was only a year old when his father died and was raised at "Eagle's Nest" being the only son of his father, Colonel Henry3 Fitzhugh, who was the only son of Colonel William Fitzhugh, also of "Eagle's Nest," the eldest son and heir-at-law of Colonel William Fitzhugh (1651-1701). The Honorable William4 Fitzhugh (1741-1809) married Anne Randolph (1747-1805) of "Chatsworth," Henrico County, 2 April 1763, and for some years lived at "Somerset," Saint Paul's Parish, but built "Chatham" in 1768. This handsome brick mansion on the north side of the Rappahannock River overlooking Fredericksburg, was erected on land which descended to him from his great-grandfather, Colonel William' Fitzhugh (1651-1701).

Robert Carter makes disposition in his will begun in 1726 (with codicils in October 1726, September 1728, and June and July 1730) of his extensive lands, slaves, investments, and other property to his children with small bequests to his trustees and friends, his minister, and the parish poor.

- My will is that if my Daughter Lucy shall live to the age of twenty one years unmarried or if she shall marry before with the consent and approbation of Col. Mann Page, Majr.. Benja. Harrison my son John and her brothers Robert and Charles that then there be paid to her by my Executors the sume [sic] of eighteen hundred pounds sterling to be paid in manner following (that is to say) at three yearly equal successive payments the first payment to be made in eight months after my said daughter's marriage with consent as aforesaid, or her coming to the age of twenty one years
- and my Will is that my said Daughter Lucy have a genteel maintenance out of my estate until she arrive at such age or marriage, and that she live with her sister Page, or her sister Harrison as as they shall agree to be best and properest for her,
- I also give unto my said daughter Lucy, the Madagascar Girl Belinda and her child and Nausau's Girl Bridgett, and Toby's Girl Pricilla, to her the said Lucy, and the heirs of her Body
- and if she dye [sic] without heirs of her Body unto my son Robert and the heirs of his Body forever.
- And I do order my executors to send for, for my said Daughter Lucy a gold watch of thirty pounds price, and a pearl necklace of twenty five pounds price when she arrives at sixteen years of age.
- And it is my further will that if my said Daughter Lucy shall marry before she attains to the age of twenty one years without the consent and approbation of her brothers as aforesaid, or the major part of the survivors of them that in such case I revoak & makevoid all the aforesaid Legacys and then order my executors to pay to her my said Daughter Lucy the sum of five hundred pounds sterling and no more. --
- My will is that if either of my two youngest daughters dye dye before she comes of age or is married so that she doth not come to enjoy the Legacies designed by this said will then my will is there be paid by my executors to each of my surviving daughters the sume of two hundred pounds sterling and if the other of my two youngest Daughters dye [sic] before she come to enjoy the Legacies designed her by this will then two hundred pounds more a peice to my surviving Daughters, and in case of the death of my surviving daughters or either of them leaving Child or children such child or children to enjoy the mothers part ...
- It is my Will that if my daughters Mary & Lucy shall be alive five years after my decease that then there be paid to each of them the sume of two hundred pounds sterling more than the Legacies I have given them by this my Will, and that [if] either of my said daughters should dye before that time leaving Child or Childred [sic ] behind them that then such sum be paid to such Child or Children when the said term of time is expired by my Exetors out of the estate I have given to them.

Her son, Benjamin, was ancestor of the Grymes family of King George county, and her daughter the mother of Bishop William Meade.
