Larkin Ray, Sr., son of Colonel Jesse Ray, married Nancy Hardin, daughter of Henry Hardin and Catherine Cox.

Larkin Ray was born 1 1796 in Wilkes Co. NC, now Ashe. He died 1834 in died from fall from horse and was buried in N24-Calloway-Ray Ceme., Jefferson TS.

Larkin Ray married Nancy Hardin on 1815 in Ashe County, NC.

They had the following children:

• M ii Jeremiah Ray was born 19 Mar 1816 and died 19 May 1898.
• M iii Jesse Ray was born 30 Sep 1822 and died 15 Nov 1908.
• M iv William Ray was born about 1823.
• M v Caswell Ray 1 was born 2 about 1824 in Ashe Co. NC went to CA. He died in California gold rush days.
• M vi Hamilton Ray was born 1 about 1825 in Ashe Co. NC went to TN. He died in TN.
• M vii Tom Ray was born 1 about 1826 in Ashe Co. NC.
• F viii Susan Ray was born 1 about 1827 in Ashe Co. NC.
• M ix Wilburn Ray was born 1832.
• F x Jane Ray was born 1834.
• F xi Elizabeth Ray was born about 1835.
